A team of distinguished gastroenterologists, hepatologists, and endoscopy specialists from Taiba Hospital actively participated in the Third Kuwait Gastroenterology Association Conference, held from January 30 to February 1. The conference, inaugurated by the Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi, served as a key platform for experts and specialists to explore the latest advancements in the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal and liver diseases. The event featured a dedicated workshop day, followed by scientific sessions that addressed emerging research, innovative treatment modalities, and evolving clinical practices in gastroenterology.
As part of Taiba Hospital’s commitment to medical excellence and continuous professional development, several of its physicians played prominent roles in the conference. Dr. Ahmed Al-Fadhli, Head of the Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Endoscopy Department at Taiba Hospital and Honorary President of the Kuwait Gastroenterology Association, chaired a scientific session on inflammatory bowel diseases, leading discussions on recent advancements in diagnostic approaches and therapeutic strategies.
Additionally, Dr. Ali Al-Ali, Consultant in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, contributed to a panel discussion on gastrointestinal bleeding in cardiac patients, with a focus on valvular heart disease and post-cardiac catheterization complications. His session highlighted evidence-based approaches in managing these complex cases, integrating multidisciplinary perspectives from both gastroenterology and cardiology.
Further enriching the conference’s scientific agenda, Dr. Asmaa Al-Kandari, Consultant in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Hepatology, delivered a presentation on “Optimal Assessment and Resection of Colonic Polyps.” Her talk emphasized best practices in colorectal polyp detection, classification, and endoscopic resection techniques, underscoring the importance of precision in colorectal cancer prevention.
